Spesh Paws Privacy Policy
A legal disclaimer
1. Information We Collect from Pet Owners
-
Account & Payment Data: Name, email, password, and subscription tier. Payment details are processed directly by our secure third-party payment provider (e.g., Stripe); Spesh Paws does not store your full credit card number.
-
Pet Profile Data: Information you provide to build your pet’s digital profile, including name, photos, and behavioral notes.
-
Medical Vault Data (Premium): If you utilize our premium vault, we securely store uploaded documents such as vaccine records, rabies certificates, and veterinary notes.
2. Information We Collect from Finders (Scanners) When a third party scans a Spesh Paws QR tag, we collect specific data to facilitate the safe return of the pet:
-
Geolocation Data: We collect the scanner’s IP address. If the scanner grants explicit browser permission, we also collect precise GPS coordinates to send an immediate location alert to the pet owner. This precise location data is used exclusively for the alert event and is not stored long-term or used for marketing.
-
Communication Logs: If the finder uses our masked calling/SMS feature or in-browser chat to contact the owner, we process communication metadata (time, date, routing numbers) via our third-party telecom partner to connect the parties without revealing personal phone numbers.
3. How We Use and Share Your Information We use your data strictly to operate the Spesh Paws service. We do not sell your personal data or your pet's data to third parties. We share information only with essential service providers (hosting, telecom routing, payment processors) bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
4. Dynamic Privacy Controls & Visibility You control what information is public. By default, a scanned tag only displays basic identification and care notes. Owners must explicitly toggle "Lost Mode" to display additional emergency contact methods. Sensitive Medical Vault documents and the owner's home address are strictly for the owner's personal management and are never displayed on the public scan page.
5. Data Retention and Your Rights You have the right to access, update, or permanently delete your data. You may delete your account and wipe all associated pet profiles and Medical Vault documents at any time. Geolocation data collected from third-party scanners is retained only as long as necessary to facilitate the lost-pet alert and is routinely purged from our active databases.
